In Awe

I took Gidget to visit her godmother yesterday at the Park Hyatt. Gidget loved seeing Kris and her family but she was even more excited about the actual hotel! I had forgotten how exciting a luxury hotel is when you're small. The glitz, the glamour, the lifts, the piano man! She was in awe. I think afternoon tea visits to Melbourne's hotels might be a great idea.

I, on the other hand, was in awe of Gidget's godmother!

Kris gave birth to her beautiful daughter on Thursday, and you would swear she didn't raise a sweat. She radiates calm and is happily holding court at the Hyatt with her usual grace and charm. Even the arrival of her three boys did nothing to outwardly disturb the tranquility although she did mention that she wouldn't be encouraging them to stay too long!
I find it amazing and comforting to know that after 26 years Kris and I are still there for the big moments in each other's lives.
Congratulations Will and Kris - she is divine.

Sunday Rose Kidman Urban

The phone has rung hot this morning with friends checking to make sure I had heard the news about Keith. Luckily the lovely man, knowing I was waiting to hear, posted this on his website....

"Earlier this morning, Nic gave birth to our beautiful baby girl," he wrote. "We want to thank everybody that has kept us in their thoughts and prayers. We feel very blessed and grateful that we can share this joy with all of you today. More to follow..."

So she is finely here, safe and sound, and there is one more Urban in the world which can only be a very good thing for mankind!!!

Congratulations to the Urban and Kidman Families.

Ode to Mr Fussenegger

I don't think I can begin to tell you how excited I am about our latest new product. How can I be so excited about a blanket?? I'll tell you why because they are from the amazing world of Fussenegger and they are fabulous.

David Fussenegger founded his company in Austria in the year 1832 - Six generations on and continuing the family tradition, it is now run by Klaus Ladstaetter. These beautiful baby blankets are made in the age old tradition and are some of the softest baby blankets on the market today.

The greatest thing is that I have this fabulous catalogue of gems that I can order individually if customers are after a design we don't carry.

At the moment we have the baby blanket at $49 (70x90cm) and the huge cot blanket at $72 (The photo of the girl is the cot size-100x140cm)

I must apologise for the lack of CHALK cot quilts in store at the moment. With James away I haven't had a lot of sewing time but there are heaps on the way and they should be instore by the end of the week. I'll post some photos of them tomorrow. Brothers & Sisters is about to start so must fly....
