Maruti Kizashi Launch Date
It is expected that Maruti will launch Maruti Kizashi in Indian market in the month of January 2011.
17 January, 2011 - Breaking away from the tag, Maruti, the hatchback maker champion enters a whole new arena of luxury segment with the launch of Maruti Kizashi slated for 2nd of February. Powered by a 2.4 L, four cylinder engine, Maruti Kizashi would be available in both automatic and manual transmission. Placed above Camry and Accord and below Corolla and Civic, the car covers a price band of 12 to 16 lac.
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. Is all set to launch it latest sports sedan Maruti Kizashi in India by 2011. Recently, top Suzuki official again confirmed the news. Suzuki, Japanese auto major and parent company of Maruti India, sells Suzuki Kizashi in the US and Japanese market and the response is overwhelming at there. The mid-size car, Maruti Kizashi, was showcased for the first time at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show than at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show. In addition to this, the concept third Kizashi was introduced at the 2008 New York auto show. After showcasing the Maruti Kizashi at different Auto Shows across the world, it was launched commercially in Japan and the US in October 2009 and December 2009 respectively. The company also displayed the production model of the car at the biggest Auto Expo - Delhi Auto Expo 2010. This was a quick hint of launching the Maruti Kizashi in India too.
Maruti Kizashi is a sports sedan which is powered by a J24B 2.4 litre petrol engine, 4 cylinder, DOHC. The D-segment car's powertrain is capable of producing peak power of 185 hp at 6,500 rpm (Manual Transmission) and 180 hp at 6,000 rpm (continuously Variable Transmission). The maximum torque from the engine is 170 Nm at 4,000 rpm in both type of transmission. Maruti Kizashi is available in Japan and the US standard with Front Wheel Drive and optional All Wheel Drive. The optional i-AWD system includes a driver-activated Front Wheel Drive mode in view to save petrol. It is speculated that the sports sedan will come equipped with either 17 inch alloy wheel or 18 inch alloy wheels. The steering wheel might come as having three spokes and electronically powered. The suspension system would be Macpherson strut and coil springs front and rear one would be multi-link type. Whereas all the wheels must have disc brakes. Front brake would be vented disc and rear solid disc.
The braking system would be comprised of Electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), Electric Stability Program (ESP) along with the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS).

Maruti Kizashi is supposed to compete with Honda Accord and Toyota Carmy in India. The yet-to-launch Maruti Kizashi is reported to be little shorter than Honda Accord and Toyota Carmy but wider than latter.

The front face of Maruti Kizashi is broad and bold with bigger upper grille, headlight and foglights. The upper and lower grille is having 'U' shape cluster which is also something unique to Suzuki.

Apart from this, the car is expected to have 8 airbags (front, rear and curtain), pushbutton keyless start, power steering, windows and mirrors, Dual-zone climate control, EPS Stability control and ABS, projector beam headlamps etc.

Maruti Kizashi is available in front wheel drive and optional All wheel drive in overseas market. It also come with six speed manual transmission and CVT.
